Leaky Gut Symptoms

Detecting the symptoms for Leaky Gut is as complex and problematic as the syndrome itself because they are all-encompassing and can be linked to any illness. Add its dubious status in the mainstream medical community and you get yourself a cocktail of discombobulating condition that produces more questions than answers. It’s a never ending cycle of frustration that often leaves the sufferer helpless.

Sure it’s preventable but the leaky gut diagnosis is usually a last-ditch effort—when everything else fails and when it’s sadly too late. It shouldn’t be the case, right? Knowledge is power but what good is a nugget of information when it keeps getting overlooked? Well, some things have to change and it needs to start right now!

But first things first; you need to recognize that the leaky gut syndrome is a legitimate health concern and when you do, the healing process will follow. The key to a successful healing process is to deal with the symptoms as soon as they appear. I’m not talking about masking them with drugs. I’m talking about curing them holistically which involves lifestyle changes. The good news is that these changes are not as drastic as you might think they are. They’re completely doable and only require commitment and laser-like focus. I’ve compiled the myriad symptoms into different stages so that you can deal with them accordingly.

Stage 1

This is when the leaky gut is at its initial stage therefore, the symptoms involved are not as severe and conspicuous as in other stages so they’re often ignored. However, the moment an individual experiences some of the symptoms below, he/she has to deal with them right away. Take note that at this initial stage, the digestive system might’ve already been inflamed and the intestinal lining might’ve already been damaged so even this early, something needs to be done.  Here are some of the common symptoms of Stage 1:

  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Bloating
  • Gum Disease
  • Depression
  • Intestinal Gas
  • Heartburn

Once the symptoms mentioned above have been identified or experienced, a complete diet change is required. Anything that consists primarily of fresh meat and vegetables is a great way to start.  And, I can’t stress this enough: Processed foods must be avoided at all cost! They’re never good for anyone; with or without the leaky gut syndrome.

Stage 2

Obviously, this is a more advanced stage of the leaky gut syndrome so naturally, the symptoms are more pronounced. When a person gets to this point, the gaps between the cells of his/her intestinal lining has become too wide; allowing undigested food particles and waste materials to pass through the gut and into the bloodstream.

Most of the symptoms here are unbearable and when you get to this stage, chances are, you might have already consulted a physician and might have taken a medication. Of course, it provides temporary relief but and it’s a big ‘BUT’, you’ll find out sooner than later that the symptoms would keep coming back; some more intense than the previous ones. Take note of the symptoms below and if you ever experienced any of them, try asking yourself this question: “Has anything I’ve done or taken changed my condition for the better?” If not, then you might have just have a leaky gut. The symptoms are as follows:

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Digestive Complications/Disorders
  • Chronic Food Allergies
  • Skin Inflammation (e.g. Eczema, Psoriasis and Dermatitis)
  • Joint Pain
  • ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder)
  • Early Stages of Autoimmune Deficiency
  • Migraines and other forms of Headaches

If these symptoms still persist after countless visits to the doctor’s office and medications, it’s just reasonable to approach the malady differently and in this case, holistically. Anyway, the cure for leaky gut is through natural means so you don’t have to worry about possible side effects.  Plus they’re also cost-effective. It’s a win-win situation whichever way you look at it.

Stage 3

Symptoms for this stage should be dealt with immediately as further progression would result to the development of auto immune complications which would in turn make healing of the leaky gut syndrome that much difficult and taxing.

As soon as auto immune diseases begin to arise, they are very hard to stop much less reversed. It’s highly important to manage the condition right away before it’s too late. Remember that this is the most advanced stage so the situation is very, very dire.

  • Severe Cases of Skin Inflammation
  • Arthritis
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Crohn Syndrome and Regional Enteritis
  • Colitis
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Chronic Lymphocytic Thyroiditis
  • Nail fungus, Ringworm and Candida

Symptoms are your body’s way of alarming yourself of an underlying medical condition—whether openly acknowledged by the mainstream medical community or not. The best thing that you can do is to listen to your body, follow the trail and solve the puzzle. As the great Albert Einstein once said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

If you’ve exhausted all the available conventional methods provided to you, is it insane or logical to look for answers elsewhere? I believe that by virtue of common sense, the answer is the latter. There are no misleading clues; only myopic interpreters. Educate yourself about the basics of the leaky gut syndrome and heal yourself from within, now!
